The Burning Bush Part 2

Man and Child FishingExodus 3 v 7 – 4 v 16

Lesson Aim

To know that God gives us the help we need to do his work

Hook 1: Stick and snake

Stick and snake (a plastic snake from any good toy shop).  To represent the leprous hand either have white spots to stick on the back of your hand and the other side normal or have a see through latex glove in your pocket with white spots on.  This will need to be well practiced!

Hook 2: Excuses

What excuses do you make to your parents when you don’t want to do something?  How many are real reasons and how many are just excuses because you don’t want to do something?

Have a table with two columns: one column with excuses and the other with God’s reply.  As you are telling the story add the information to the columns.

Hook 3: Pictures

Have a series of pictures of the things that are mentioned in the story. Display them at the appropriate point in the story.

Stick, snake, I AM (God’s name), hand, leprous hand, closed mouth, open mouth.

Hook 4: Question

Who can remember from last week what happened when Moses went to a special, holy place? Let’s find out what else happened there.

Application

God has given us all an exciting job to do.  This is to share the good news about Jesus with our friends.  Sometimes we make excuses too; we might feel scared or not know what to say.  God has given his Holy Spirit to help us with this job.
